The United Nations Human Rights Office has documented a rising number of killings near humanitarian aid points and convoys in Gaza since late May 2025. Initial reports recorded 613 deaths occurring at aid distribution sites operated by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a U.S. and Israeli-backed organization, and near other humanitarian convoys. By mid-July, the death toll increased to at least 798 people killed while attempting to receive food aid. The latest figures from mid-July indicate that at least 875 Palestinians have been killed over the past six weeks in proximity to aid delivery points across Gaza. Of these, 674 deaths occurred near GHF-run sites, while 201 were associated with routes of other aid convoys managed by various relief groups, including the United Nations. The GHF employs private U.S. security and logistics for its operations. These figures highlight the ongoing humanitarian challenges and security concerns faced by aid recipients in Gaza amid the conflict.
