The United Nations Human Rights Office has documented a rising number of killings in Gaza related to humanitarian aid distribution since late May 2025. Initially, the UN reported 613 killings near aid points operated by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a U.S. and Israeli-backed organization, and near humanitarian convoys run by other relief groups. By mid-July, the death toll increased to at least 875 people killed within the past six weeks. Of these, 674 deaths occurred in the vicinity of GHF-run aid sites, while 201 were recorded along routes used by other aid convoys, including those instructed by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and involving the United Nations and partner organizations. The casualties occurred while Palestinians were attempting to receive food aid amid ongoing conflict conditions in Gaza.
