Cleveland Guardians third baseman José Ramírez will miss next week’s Major League Baseball All-Star Game in Atlanta to continue rehabbing a heel-ankle injury, the club said Wednesday. The 31-year-old switch-hitter had been voted the American League’s starting third baseman, which would have marked his seventh career All-Star appearance and fourth time as a starter. Major League Baseball named Houston Astros infielder Isaac Paredes as Ramírez’s replacement on the AL roster. Paredes, 25, earns his second consecutive All-Star nod and his first as an Astro after joining Houston this season. His addition raises the number of Mexican-born players in the 2025 midsummer classic to four, alongside catcher Alejandro Kirk, reliever Andrés Muñoz and infielder Jonathan Aranda.
