Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy sustained a left knee injury during a collision at third base while attempting to tag Michael A. Taylor in a game against the Chicago White Sox. Muncy immediately grabbed his knee after the incident and was helped off the field. An MRI revealed no structural damage, but the team diagnosed him with a left knee bone bruise. As a result, the Dodgers placed Muncy on the injured list, with an expected recovery period of approximately six weeks. To fill the roster spot, the Dodgers recalled outfielder Esteury Ruiz. Separately, utility player Kiké Hernández was also placed on the injured list due to left elbow inflammation, prompting the Dodgers to recall outfielder James Outman and select the contract of right-handed pitcher Julian Fernández. Additionally, the Dodgers briefly called up former All-Star reliever Alexis Díaz, who was optioned back to the minors the following day to make room for pitcher Tyler Glasnow.
