The Miami Marlins have claimed right-handed reliever Tyler Zuber off waivers from the New York Mets, the clubs confirmed. Zuber, 29, was designated for assignment by the Mets earlier this week after a brief stint with their Major League roster. New York had acquired him at last year’s trade deadline, but the former sixth-round pick made only limited appearances before returning to Triple-A. In a separate transaction, the Seattle Mariners outrighted outfielder Jacob Hurtubise to Triple-A Tacoma after he cleared waivers, keeping the 26-year-old in the organization without occupying a 40-man roster spot.
