On July 1, Ohtani hit his 30th home run of the season, marking his fifth consecutive year reaching at least 30 home runs. Despite Ohtani's performance, the Dodgers suffered their longest losing streak of the season at five games. On July 11, Ohtani hit his 32nd home run, a two-run splash hit into McCovey Cove off returning ace pitcher Senga, marking the first Japanese player to achieve a splash hit in MLB history.
