Walt Disney’s 20th Century Studios has launched the marketing campaign for James Cameron’s third Avatar instalment, “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” unveiling the first official poster and confirming that the film’s debut teaser will run exclusively in cinemas this weekend ahead of Marvel’s “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.” The poster introduces Varang, leader of the newly revealed Ash People, portrayed by actor Oona Chaplin. Story details from the forthcoming footage suggest the Sully family will confront this volcanic-dwelling Na’vi clan as Cameron shifts the saga toward a darker moral landscape that blurs the line between heroes and villains. “Avatar: Fire and Ash” opens worldwide on 19 December 2025 and is currently listed at roughly three hours and 12 minutes. The picture follows the record-setting “Avatar” (US$2.9 billion worldwide) and 2022’s “Avatar: The Way of Water” (US$2.3 billion), with two additional sequels already dated for 2029 and 2031.
