The filmed version of the Broadway musical “Hamilton” will screen in U.S. cinemas for the first time on 5 September, marking the show’s 10th anniversary. A trailer for the theatrical release was published on 6 August, and tickets are already available through Fandango. Creator and original star Lin-Manuel Miranda announced the milestone during an appearance on NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” where he performed a medley of songs from the production with Fallon and The Roots. Miranda said the film was shot with the original cast in 2016 and first debuted on Disney+ in 2020 after the pandemic disrupted earlier cinema plans. The forthcoming wide release gives audiences a chance to see the Tony-, Grammy-, Emmy- and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical on the big screen after its record-setting Broadway run and streaming success.
