NBC said it will air a two-hour live "Wicked" event special on 6 Nov. from Los Angeles’ Dolby Theater, featuring performances by cast members Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. The programme will stream on Peacock the following day. The broadcast is designed to promote "Wicked: For Good," the sequel to the 2024 hit adaptation, which opens in cinemas on 21 Nov. NBCUniversal said the special will showcase songs from the first film and may preview music from the upcoming release. Fulwell Entertainment is producing, with Ben Winston and Raj Kapoor serving as executive producers. The original "Wicked" film grossed more than $750 million worldwide and earned two Oscars out of 10 nominations, making it the highest-grossing Broadway musical adaptation to date. The sequel reunites director Jon M. Chu and producers Marc Platt and David Stone, alongside a cast that includes Jonathan Bailey, Peter Dinklage and Michelle Yeoh.
