Amazon-owned Prime Video has released the first poster and full trailer for “The Map That Leads to You,” a romantic drama that will premiere globally on the streaming platform on 20 August 2025. The film is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and is based on J.P. Monninger’s best-selling novel of the same name. Directed by Oscar-nominated Swedish filmmaker Lasse Hallström, the story follows Heather (Madelyn Cline), a recent college graduate touring Europe with friends, who meets Jack (KJ Apa), a free-spirited New Zealander retracing his grandfather’s travel journal. Their chance encounter evolves into a journey of self-discovery as secrets and life choices test their bond. The cast also features Sofia Wylie, Madison Thompson and Josh Lucas. The project marks Hallström’s first American feature since 2018’s “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.” It is produced by Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, with a screenplay from Vera Herbert and Les Bohem. Amazon is banking on the late-summer release to bolster its slate of original romances on Prime Video.
