Amazon MGM Studios has shifted the wide theatrical release of its feature adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s best-selling thriller “Verity” to 2 October 2026, pushing the picture back more than four months from its earlier slot of 15 May 2026. The film is directed by Michael Showalter and stars Anne Hathaway as novelist Verity Crawford alongside Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett. Nick Antosca scripted the project, with Hathaway, Hoover, Showalter, Stacey Sher and others producing. By moving to the first weekend of October—a frame that has produced female-led suspense hits such as “Gone Girl” and “The Girl on the Train”—“Verity” will open against an untitled Warner Bros. movie directed by Alejandro Iñárritu and starring Tom Cruise.
