Amazon MGM Studios has released the first trailer for “After the Hunt,” a psychological thriller directed by Luca Guadagnino and led by Julia Roberts, Ayo Edebiri and Andrew Garfield. The film centres on a college professor who is forced to confront a sexual-assault allegation against a colleague and a long-buried secret from her own past, setting up a #MeToo-inflected clash between generations on campus. Written by first-time screenwriter Nora Garrett, the feature is produced by Guadagnino under his Frenesy banner alongside Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer, Allan Mandelbaum and Jeb Brody. Malik Hassan Sayeed (“Belly,” “Clockers”) serves as cinematographer, reuniting with the director after last year’s “Challengers.” The studio will open the film in New York and Los Angeles on 10 October before expanding nationwide on 17 October. Speaking at CinemaCon, Garfield said Guadagnino’s approach on set was “loose, spontaneous and laser-focused,” calling the collaboration “a dream come true with a living master.”
