Sony Pictures has released the first official poster for “Caught Stealing,” the next feature from Oscar-nominated director Darren Aronofsky. The crime caper is scheduled to open exclusively in U.S. theaters on Aug. 29. Based on Charlie Huston’s novel of the same name—with the author also handling the screenplay—the film stars Austin Butler as Hank Thompson, a former high-school baseball standout whose quiet life in late-1990s New York City unravels after he agrees to cat-sit for a neighbor. The ensemble cast includes Regina King, Zoë Kravitz, Matt Smith, Liev Schreiber, Vincent D’Onofrio, Benito Martínez Ocasio and Carol Kane. Aronofsky, known for intense dramas such as “Black Swan” and “The Whale,” has described the project as a “beautiful exercise” in genre filmmaking. Producers include Aronofsky, Jeremy Dawson, Dylan Golden and Ari Handel, with Huston and Ann Ruark serving as executive producers. The film is not yet rated.
