Jared Dudley is leaving the Dallas Mavericks to become the Denver Nuggets’ top assistant coach under new head coach David Adelman, according to multiple reports on 3 July. Dudley, 39, joined Jason Kidd’s staff in Dallas in 2021 after a 14-year playing career that included stints with seven NBA teams. Adelman, promoted after Denver dismissed longtime coach Michael Malone at the end of last season, is rebuilding his bench staff. League sources said the Nuggets had also approached New Orleans about James Borrego but were denied permission, clearing the way for Dudley to fill the lead assistant role.
