Dudley, 39, joined Jason Kidd’s staff in Dallas in 2021 after a 14-year playing career that included stints with seven NBA teams. Adelman, promoted after Denver dismissed longtime coach Michael Malone at the end of last season, is rebuilding his bench staff. League sources said the Nuggets had also approached New Orleans about James Borrego but were denied permission, clearing the way for Dudley to fill the lead assistant role.
