The NFL is still vastly underrating Lamar Jackson (and overrating this AFC QB) https://t.co/NM3sK7Kp0V https://t.co/O5DrmYEji8

ESPN on Monday published its 2025 quarterback rankings compiled from more than 70 league executives, coaches and scouts. Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes held the No. 1 spot for a sixth straight year, though his share of first-place votes slipped to about 60%. Buffalo’s Josh Allen, Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow and Baltimore’s two-time MVP Lamar Jackson rounded out the top four, with Washington Commanders second-year passer Jayden Daniels debuting at No. 5 after a breakout rookie season. The survey placed Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl-winning quarterback Jalen Hurts at No. 9, behind Los Angeles Chargers signal-caller Justin Herbert and Detroit’s Jared Goff. Baker Mayfield completed the list at No. 10. Mahomes, Allen, Burrow and Jackson were described in the report as forming an historically strong first tier, all entering their late-20s prime. Hurts’ ranking triggered immediate pushback. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni dismissed suggestions that the quarterback was merely “along for the ride” during last season’s championship run, calling such criticism “bulls---.” Television analysts including former NFL players Emmanuel Acho and Damien Woody also argued that Hurts deserved a top-five placement. Separately, commentators questioned why Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud and others were omitted, while noting that Jackson remains "vastly underrated" despite multiple MVP honors.
