The San Francisco 49ers’ receiving corps has been depleted, with six of the club’s top seven wideouts either injured or suspended. Brandon Aiyuk is recovering from ACL surgery and will miss at least the first five games, Jauan Jennings is nursing a calf issue while seeking a new contract, DeMarcus Robinson begins a three-game suspension, and Jordan Watkins and Jacob Cowing are sidelined by ankle and hamstring problems, respectively. Veteran Russell Gage is working back from an MCL sprain, leaving rookie Ricky Pearsall as the only healthy regular among the original group. To shore up the unit, the 49ers acquired wide receiver Skyy Moore from the Kansas City Chiefs for a late-round draft pick. Moore passed his physical and immediately joined practice, positioning himself for a significant role when San Francisco opens the season on Sept. 7 at Seattle. The 49ers also placed cornerback Tre Brown on injured reserve and struck a deal with Washington for running back Brian Robinson Jr., whose 2025 salary stands at $3.6 million. Robinson, who scored twice against Detroit in last season’s divisional round, is expected to slot in behind Christian McCaffrey and rookie Isaac Guerendo while McCaffrey remains the focal point of Kyle Shanahan’s offense. General Manager John Lynch said the club is evaluating “everything” but expressed confidence that enough healthy receivers will be available for Week 1. With the NFL’s 53-man roster deadline approaching on Aug. 26, San Francisco is expected to lean on younger players and could seek additional help via waivers or trades as it navigates another injury-laden preseason.
Brian Robinson Jr. is now a 49er 👀 Does Christian McCaffrey still hit the over on his 7.5 Rushing TD’s line? 🤔 https://t.co/DA3jMQ0Cbz

Next question: Will the 49ers take on all of Brian Robinson Jr.’s $3.6 million 2025 salary? There had been some talk of Washington potentially eating some of it https://t.co/ia8FDA8pH4
