Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif conducted surprise inspections at healthcare facilities in the region, including a field hospital near Murree and the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Pakpattan. During her visit to the DHQ Hospital Pakpattan, she inspected various wards, the medical store, and the laboratory, engaging directly with patients and their families who raised complaints about mismanagement, negligence, and lack of available services despite the presence of medicines. Following these grievances, she reprimanded the hospital administration and ordered the registration of a case. Subsequently, the CEO of Health was dismissed. To improve oversight and accountability in public hospitals, Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced the establishment of the Chief Minister's Health Vigilance Squad, which will conduct surprise inspections across Punjab to monitor cleanliness, patient care, availability of free medicines, and queue management.
