Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched Phase 2 of the 'Clinic on Wheels' initiative, expanding mobile health services to provide doorstep medical care across the province. The program, which has treated nearly 10 million people so far, has increased its fleet from six to thirteen mobile health clinics, enhancing access to healthcare in areas including Shakargarh and Nankana Sahib. The initiative includes maternal and child health services. In addition to healthcare, Maryam Nawaz is overseeing infrastructure and development projects such as the near-completion of the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology in Sargodha, the upcoming Model Agriculture Mall in Sahiwal aimed at supporting farmers with modern agricultural resources, and the construction of Pakistan’s first digital facade at Celestia IT and Office Tower in the Nawaz Sharif IT City. The Chief Minister has also conducted surprise inspections at DHQ Hospital Pakpattan, addressing negligence issues and ensuring availability of medicines, which had previously forced patients to purchase drugs externally despite stock in the hospital. Public response to her interventions has been positive. Furthermore, construction and development work continues in Lahore’s Ravi and Shalimar zones, and the province’s first air ambulance service has been operational, facilitating timely patient transfers such as from THQ Haroonabad to PIC Lahore, with patients’ families expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister.
