The U.S. State Department has issued a $4 billion loan guarantee to Poland under the Foreign Military Financing program. Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said the agreement will let Warsaw secure advanced weaponry and technologies for the Polish Armed Forces. The financing aims to reinforce NATO’s eastern flank by accelerating Poland’s ongoing military modernisation, which includes purchases of air-defence systems, tanks and combat aircraft. The U.S. guarantee lowers Warsaw’s borrowing costs rather than providing direct grants, and reflects Washington’s broader strategy to deepen defence cooperation with frontline allies.
