General Alexus G. Grynkewich has assumed command as the new Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) of NATO, succeeding General Christopher Cavoli. The handover ceremony took place at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) and was attended by senior military leaders, including Germany's Chief of Defence General Carsten Breuer and Turkey's Chief of General Staff Orgeneral Gürak. General Grynkewich emphasized the importance of unity within the alliance during his remarks, noting that current threats do not match NATO's capabilities. The transition underscores the strength of transatlantic ties and the alliance's ongoing commitment to collective security for over one billion people across member states.
