Scott Dixon scored his 59th career IndyCar victory at the Honda Indy 200 in Mid-Ohio, overtaking Chip Ganassi Racing team-mate Alex Palou with six laps remaining after the Spaniard ran wide at Turn 4. The win extends the 44-year-old New Zealander’s record to 21 consecutive seasons with at least one triumph. Palou, who started from pole and led 75 of the 80 laps, had been chasing a seventh win in the opening 11 races of the 2025 campaign. His slip allowed Dixon to claim the chequered flag, while Christian Lundgaard brought his Arrow McLaren home third ahead of Colton Herta and team-mate Pato O’Ward, who climbed nine positions from 14th on the grid. Despite the setback, Palou retains a commanding lead in the championship on 430 points, 113 clear of Kyle Kirkwood and 125 ahead of O’Ward. Dixon’s victory lifts him to fourth overall with 282 points. The series heads next to Iowa Speedway for a double-header on 12–13 July, where Dixon will look to build on Mid-Ohio’s momentum and Palou will attempt to re-establish his recent dominance.
The chaotic scene at the rainy British Grand Prix made for a day some will never forget and others hope not to remember. https://t.co/3BG34Uk79F
Scott Dixon won the Indy Honda 200 at Mid-Ohio on Sunday. With the win, Dixon became just the third driver to win an NTT IndyCar Series race this year. Alex Palou and Kyle Kirkwood won the first nine races of the IndyCar season. https://t.co/RfXz98oZ3E
Scott Dixon fans should celebrate the win, no matter the circumstance. Another year with a win for Dixon. Some thoughts: https://t.co/oE1HKByRkw
