Putin and Trump Plan Talks on Outstanding Bilateral Issues

The Kremlin said on 13 August that Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump have agreed to discuss the full range of unresolved matters clouding relations between the two countries. A Russian source cited by multiple news agencies said the leaders will address “all the accumulated issues,” without providing a timetable or specifying whether the conversation will take place by telephone or in person. Moscow did not detail the agenda, but longstanding points of friction include nuclear-arms control, the wars in Ukraine and Syria, cybersecurity allegations and a raft of U.S. sanctions. The White House has not yet commented on the planned talks.
