U.S. President Donald Trump said he assigns a 25% probability that his 15 August summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska could fail, while expressing confidence that follow-up diplomacy will ultimately produce an agreement. Trump told Fox Radio and reporters that the initial encounter is meant to "set up" a second meeting he believes will secure a deal aimed at ending the war in Ukraine. He added that he is willing to impose further sanctions on Russia if the talks collapse.
