Norway became the first side to reach the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 quarter-finals after edging Finland 2–1 in Sion. Caroline Graham Hansen, who had orchestrated Thursday’s victory over hosts Switzerland, forced an own goal from defender Eva Nyström in the third minute and later settled a tense Nordic derby with a looping strike six minutes from time. Finland had drawn level on 32 minutes through forward Oona Sevenius and twice hit the woodwork after the break, but could not deny the two-time European champions a second successive win. The result lifted Norway to six points from two matches and ensured top spot in Group A after Switzerland defeated Iceland 2–0 in Bern. Midfielder Géraldine Reuteler broke the deadlock for the hosts in the 76th minute before substitute Alayah Pilgrim added a deflected second in stoppage time, eliminating Iceland from the tournament. Group A now sees Norway safely through, while Switzerland and Finland – level on three points – will meet on Thursday to decide the pool’s remaining quarter-final berth.
