Spain wrapped up the Women’s Euro 2025 group stage with a 3–1 comeback win over Italy in Bern, completing a perfect record of three victories from three matches. Elisabetta Oliviero put the Azzurre ahead on 10 minutes, but Athenea del Castillo levelled four minutes later after combining with Alexia Putellas. Midfielder Patricia Guijarro curled in from the edge of the area shortly after the interval, and Esther González added a stoppage-time strike to take Spain’s tournament tally to 14 goals, the highest in the competition. The result secured top spot in Group B for the reigning world champions on nine points— the first time Spain have won every group game at a major women’s tournament. Italy, despite the defeat, progressed as runners-up with four points after Belgium’s 2–1 victory over Portugal in Sion, sealed by Janice Cayman’s 96th-minute goal. Portugal finished third, while Belgium exited with the consolation win. Quarter-final pairings are now confirmed: Spain will meet tournament hosts Switzerland, who advanced thanks to Riola Xhemaili’s added-time equaliser against Finland, and Italy will face Group A winners Norway, 4–3 victors over Iceland. Switzerland’s late draw also eliminated Finland and confirmed Norway’s flawless passage from their section.
