Nottingham Forest confirmed the signing of Brazilian striker Igor Jesus from Botafogo, agreeing a four-year contract that runs until June 2029. Multiple outlets put the fee at about €11.5 million, though Brazilian media say the package could rise toward €20 million once performance bonuses are included. Jesus, 24, arrives after spearheading Botafogo’s recent domestic and continental triumphs and featuring in this year’s expanded FIFA Club World Cup, where he famously scored the winning goal against Paris Saint-Germain. He has nine goals and one assist in 29 appearances this season, following a 2024 campaign in which he netted 17 times across 59 matches. “I didn’t have to think twice about the offer, I embraced it,” the forward said in a statement released by Forest. The Premier League side finished seventh last season under Nuno Espírito Santo and has already moved to bolster its squad in this window, also reaching a deal for Botafogo defender Jair Cunha.
