Nottingham Forest has made multiple acquisitions from Botafogo as part of its summer transfer activity. The English Premier League club signed Brazilian striker Igor Jesus on a four-year contract until 2029 for a transfer fee of €11.5 million. Jesus, who recently won the Copa Libertadores and played in the FIFA Club World Cup with Botafogo, is expected to strengthen Forest's attacking options alongside Argentine midfielder Nico Domínguez. Shortly after, Nottingham Forest sold Paraguayan forward Ramón Sosa to Palmeiras for €12 million. Sosa, 25, signed a five-year deal with the Brazilian club and was brought in to replace Estêvão and cover for the injured Paulinho. Additionally, Nottingham Forest secured the signing of 20-year-old Brazilian defender Jair Cunha from Botafogo for around £10 million. Cunha, who debuted professionally in 2023 and played 22 matches for Botafogo this year, signed a contract with Forest until June 2030. In a separate development, Nottingham Forest appointed former Arsenal technical director Edu Gaspar as their new Global Head of Football. Edu will oversee all football operations at the club, including recruitment, performance, squad strategy, and player development, marking a strategic move in the club's management structure.
