Anthropic has announced significant updates to its AI model, Claude 3.5 Sonnet. The new model is reported to be ahead of GPT-4o from OpenAI in many usage scenarios. Claude 3.5 Sonnet operates twice as fast as its predecessor, Claude 3 Opus, and now has a doubled max output token limit from 4096 to 8192 in the Anthropic API, allowing for longer writing and coding use cases. Additionally, Anthropic has launched the Claude Android app, making the AI chatbot more accessible to users and positioning it as a competitor to ChatGPT. The app is available for download on Google Play.
