Google has released a 30-second teaser titled “Soon” to promote its forthcoming Pixel 10 handset, using the spot to tell consumers they can “just change your phone” rather than wait for delayed features. Set to an instrumental of Dr. Dre’s “The Next Episode”—a pointed nod to Apple-owned Beats—the ad shows stylised glimpses of the Pixel 10 and ends with the launch date “8.20.25.” The commercial targets Apple’s year-long slip in rolling out an Apple Intelligence version of Siri that was unveiled alongside the iPhone 16 in 2024. Bloomberg previously reported that Apple software chief Craig Federighi blamed the setback on the company’s hybrid on-device and cloud architecture, telling employees the delay should yield a “much bigger upgrade.” Apple now expects the revamped assistant in spring 2026, and the postponement has already drawn customer lawsuits over alleged false advertising. Google will formally introduce the Pixel 10 line at a Made by Google event on 20 August. By spotlighting Apple’s missed deadline, the company is positioning its Gemini-powered features as available today and heightening the contest for artificial-intelligence leadership in high-end smartphones ahead of Apple’s usual iPhone refresh next month.
