Microsoft has begun rolling out a Windows Insider preview update that lets owners of Arm-based Windows 11 PCs download and run ARM64 games directly through the Xbox app. Until now, the app allowed only cloud streaming, limiting local play on devices powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X and other Arm processors. The company said its Windows and Xbox engineering teams are collaborating to broaden compatibility across the Game Pass catalogue and are "developing new features that will enable more games to be played on Arm-based Windows 11 PCs in the coming months." The move marks Microsoft’s first formal commitment to improving native and emulated gaming performance on the Windows on Arm platform.
