Microsoft has outlined the first wave of additions to Xbox Game Pass for August, headlined by Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage. The ninth-century Baghdad-set entry in the stealth franchise joins the subscription catalogue on 7 August for cloud, console and PC users on the Ultimate and PC Game Pass tiers. The update begins today, 5 August, with survival platformer Rain World arriving across all Game Pass tiers. On 6 August, Game Pass Standard subscribers gain access to Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, MechWarrior 5: Clans and Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap. A 10-hour EA Sports Madden NFL 26 trial follows on 7 August for Ultimate members. Co-operative shooter Aliens: Fireteam Elite re-enters the library on 12 August for cloud, console and PC, while roguelike kingdom builder 9 Kings launches in game-preview form for PC on 14 August. In the usual monthly rotation, Anthem, Farming Simulator 22 and Persona 3 Reload will leave Game Pass on 15 August, though subscribers can buy them outright at a 20 percent discount before their removal. Rival subscription service PlayStation Plus also refreshed its catalogue, with Sony making souls-like action game Lies of P, survival title Day Z and fighter My Hero One’s Justice 2 available to all Essential-tier members until 2 September.
