Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani echoed these accusations, condemning Israeli violations of Syrian sovereignty and labeling the Suwayda unrest as a fabricated sectarian conflict instigated by Israel. He reaffirmed the Druze community's integral role in Syrian society and rejected separatist projects, asserting Syria's unity and the importance of fostering a national identity inclusive of all groups. Both Turkish and Syrian defense ministers signed a memorandum of understanding in Ankara to enhance military training and advisory cooperation. Reports indicate that US officials have warned the SDF that coalition protection might not be guaranteed in the event of a Syrian army offensive, with Turkey prepared to indirectly support such operations. US envoy Thomas Barrack has requested additional time for negotiations with Ankara regarding the situation.
