The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has expressed deep concern over the escalating violence in Sweida, a Druze-majority region in southern Syria. The conflict has reportedly resulted in hundreds of deaths, including civilians, as well as numerous injuries and displacements. Stephane Dujarric, the UN Secretary-General's spokesman, condemned all violence against civilians in the area. Additionally, UN Special Envoy to Syria Geir Pedersen has voiced his deep worry about the situation. U.S. Senator Marco Rubio has also publicly expressed concerns regarding the violence in southern Syria.
