Apple is preparing to introduce its first MacBook Pro models with OLED screens in 2026, according to supply-chain information and analyst research cited across several industry reports released this week. Market-research firm Omdia says the laptops will adopt panels produced on Samsung Display’s Gen 8.6 manufacturing lines, giving Samsung an early monopoly on supply. The larger substrates used in Gen 8.6 fabrication are expected to lower production costs while delivering brighter images, deeper blacks and improved power efficiency compared with the current mini-LED screens. In addition to the new display technology, the 2026 MacBook Pro is expected to feature Apple’s next-generation M6 and M6 Pro processors, a slimmer chassis and an iPhone-style Dynamic Island cut-out that would replace the existing notch. The overhaul would mark the notebook’s first major redesign since 2021 and is likely to pave the way for OLED panels in other Mac models over subsequent product cycles.
According to sources, the Google Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL are still on track to arrive in stores on August 28. https://t.co/9ms29MKFAC
