A wrong-way driver caused a head-on collision on State Highway 114 near Dallas–Fort Worth International Airport early Monday, killing both motorists, the Irving Police Department said. Officers were called at 2:49 a.m. to the eastbound lanes near Esters Road after a westbound vehicle entered oncoming traffic and struck another car. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene; their identities have not yet been released. The crash shut all eastbound lanes of SH 114 for the morning rush hour, with traffic diverted to Freeport Parkway. Authorities reopened the highway around 9:30 a.m., though residual congestion stretched for several miles while the investigation continued.
