Turkish defence manufacturer Baykar has successfully conducted a live-fire trial of its new generation guidance kit, GÖKÇE, the company’s chairman Selçuk Bayraktar announced on 17 July with a video of the test. The trial, described by Bayraktar as a “direct hit,” aims to validate the precision-guidance system that can be integrated into conventional munitions to improve accuracy. Baykar did not release detailed performance figures, but the company said the test meets the baseline requirements for further qualification and potential serial production. GÖKÇE is part of Turkey’s broader effort to boost domestic defence capabilities amid rising export demand for the country’s drone and munition technologies. Baykar, best known for its TB2 and Akıncı unmanned aerial vehicles, has become a flagship firm in Ankara’s push for greater self-reliance in critical military technologies.
