Turkish defence company Roketsan said it will unveil a new long-range precision weapon at the IDEF 2025 exhibition in Istanbul later this month, describing the system only as offering “maximum impact and precision at long range.” The announcement, made on 16 July, reinforces Ankara’s strategy to expand its catalogue of domestically designed guided munitions ahead of a busy summer of international arms shows. The teaser followed Roketsan’s presentation of its 3-kilogram, laser-guided Mete micro missile at the LandEuro 2025 fair in Wiesbaden, Germany. Displayed for the first time integrated on the Turkish-built GÖKALP unmanned aerial vehicle, Mete is designed to give small drones and ground robots a surgical-strike capability within roughly one kilometre, minimising collateral damage. Company officials say the round is ready for series production and will complement the larger MAM family of precision weapons already exported aboard Bayraktar UAVs.
