Two forest workers lost their lives while combating a wildfire in Ödemiş, İzmir. İbrahim Demir, a dozer operator from Konya who had come to assist with the fire, died during firefighting efforts. A funeral ceremony was held for Demir in Konya's Ilgın district, where he was buried. Subsequently, Ragıp Şahin, another forest worker who was severely injured during the same wildfire and hospitalized, also passed away. Şahin was a married father of two. His funeral took place in İzmir with the attendance of Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan sent condolences to Şahin's family. The death toll from the Ödemiş wildfire has risen to three, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced in controlling the fire.
