Turkey has been battling numerous forest fires across the country over the past week, with Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı reporting that 624 fires occurred in the last seven days, of which 621 have been brought under control. On July 3, the ministry fought nine large fires, controlling six of them. The fire in Çeşme, İzmir, was contained following intensive night-long efforts and early morning aerial interventions. Efforts to control fires in Ödemiş and Buca districts of İzmir continue with both air and ground operations. By July 4, fires in İzmir's Buca and Ödemiş districts, as well as in Bursa's Yenişehir, Eskişehir's Seyitgazi, Balıkesir's Savaştepe, Kahramanmaraş's Andırın, and Çanakkale's Çan districts, were reported under control, with ongoing cooling operations. The General Directorate of Forestry highlighted ongoing firefighting efforts in Muğla's Milas, Hatay's Dörtyol, and Manisa's Saruhanlı. Minister Yumaklı emphasized the relentless and determined fight against the fires to protect Turkey's green lands, known as "Yeşil Vatan." As of July 4, firefighting operations continued against 10 large forest fires in various locations, with teams working day and night despite challenging weather conditions.
