Javier Bardem Earns First Emmy Nod for Menéndez Miniseries

Spanish actor Javier Bardem secured his first Primetime Emmy nomination on 15 July after the Television Academy unveiled contenders for the 77th edition of the awards. Bardem will compete for best supporting actor in a limited series or television movie for portraying José Menéndez in “Monstruos: La historia de Lyle y Erik Menéndez.” The Apple TV+ drama “Separación” (Severance) topped the 2025 field with 27 nominations, followed by HBO Max’s “El pingüino” with 24. The winners will be announced during a televised ceremony in Los Angeles on 14 September, when roughly 24,000 academy members cast their final votes.
