Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max streaming service launches the second season of "Peacemaker" tonight at 9 p.m. Eastern, bringing John Cena’s foul-mouthed antihero back to screens three years after the show’s acclaimed debut. The eight-episode run will drop weekly through 9 Oct., with UK viewers able to watch on Sky Max a day later. Season 2, written entirely by series creator and DC Studios co-chief James Gunn, picks up immediately after the events of Gunn’s recent $600 million-grossing "Superman" film. Early reviews are strong, with the new season holding a 98 percent Rotten Tomatoes rating, surpassing the first season’s 93 percent. While promoting the series on the "I Think You’re Overthinking It" podcast, Gunn outlined the next steps for his rebooted DC Universe. Matt Reeves’ "The Batman: Part 2" will be the next feature to reach cinemas, followed by a "Superman" sequel that Gunn is already scripting. He also confirmed that "The Brave and the Bold"—introducing a new Batman and Damian Wayne—remains in active development.
