Rt. Hon. Anita Among, the Speaker of Uganda's Parliament, has been officially nominated to contest for the position of Second National Vice Chairperson (Female) on the National Resistance Movement's (NRM) Central Executive Committee ahead of the 2026 party primaries. Her nomination was accompanied by numerous supporters, including several Members of Parliament such as Hon. Moses Magogo, Hon. Ogwang Ogwang, and Hon. Kateshumbwa. Following her nomination, Among met with NRM delegates and paid a courtesy visit to the current NRM National Vice Chairperson, Al-Haji Moses Kigongo, in Kampala. Among has pledged to strengthen the NRM by recruiting more members and urged her colleagues to recognize that the party is large enough for all aspirants. Additionally, it was announced that the NRM National Chairman, His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, will also be nominated shortly.
