Donald Trump said the summit he is scheduled to hold tomorrow in Alaska with Russian President Vladimir Putin could be followed by a second, more consequential meeting. Speaking to reporters, Trump indicated that the follow-up gathering might include Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as well as European leaders. Trump added that the idea of bringing Zelensky to the Alaska talks was never on the table, but that broader participation would be considered for the potential second round. He also warned Moscow that it would face “very serious measures” if no agreement on Ukraine is reached at the initial encounter.
