Ukraine has unveiled its new domestically-produced long-range cruise missile, named "Flamingo," which is reported to have a range of over 3,000 kilometers (approximately 1,800 miles) and a warhead weighing around 1,000 to 1,150 kilograms. The missile, capable of reaching targets deep inside Russian territory, including areas west of Omsk and even behind the Ural Mountains, has entered serial mass production. It weighs approximately six tons, travels at speeds of up to 950 kilometers per hour, and can reach an altitude of about five kilometers. Recent footage released by Ukrainian forces shows the Flamingo missile in both training and combat launches against Russian targets. The missile's unveiling and deployment come amid ongoing geopolitical tensions, notably following talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and former U.S. President Donald Trump, and just before a scheduled meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Trump. Ukrainian defense companies, including Fire Point, are involved in the missile's production as Ukraine accelerates efforts to develop its own cruise and ballistic missile capabilities for autonomous deep strikes into Russia.
