An anonymous Democratic staffer who served more than a decade on the House Intelligence Committee has told the FBI that then-Rep. Adam Schiff authorized the leaking of classified information in 2017 aimed at damaging President Donald Trump during the Russia investigation, according to recently declassified FBI 302 interview reports cited by conservative outlet The Gateway Pundit. Former U.S. Attorney Brett Tolman said in an interview that if prosecutors pursue the matter, Schiff could face penalties of up to 20 years in federal prison and fines of as much as $250,000 for each proven leak. Tolman added that prosecutors would likely examine whether the alleged disclosures were part of a broader conspiracy to undermine the presidency, which could increase exposure under conspiracy or obstruction statutes. The allegations have not resulted in formal charges, and Schiff has not publicly responded. White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt told conservative media that President Joe Biden “wants to see Adam Schiff held accountable” if the claims are substantiated, underscoring the administration’s stated emphasis on enforcing classified-information rules.
Will Adam Schiff ever see a day behind bars?
Karoline Leavitt: "The President has already said he wants to see Adam Schiff held accountable for the countless lies he told the American people in relation to the Russiagate scandal... This Administration is taking accountability very seriously." https://t.co/c0gmLmajKU
