As @VP heads to PA, don't forget he was the deciding vote on the federal budget that will do real damage while ballooning our national deficit. From gutting health care and food benefits to killing tens of thousands of energy jobs, the bill is a disaster for people across PA. https://t.co/mc6VB1VmoX
I’m Dr. Jasmeet Bains — a family and addiction doctor, daughter of immigrants, and the first Sikh American elected to the California Legislature. Today, I’m officially launching my campaign for Congress in California’s 22nd district. https://t.co/F2gIpADxyU
Several members of the U.S. House of Representatives have voted in favor of a budget bill proposed under former President Donald Trump that would result in substantial reductions in healthcare access, food assistance, and energy sector jobs across multiple districts. According to data cited by Representative Eric Swalwell and advocacy group 314 Action, the bill would cause tens of thousands of people to lose healthcare coverage and food aid. For example, Representative Gabe Evans of Colorado's 8th district voted for a measure that could strip healthcare from 163,000 people, while Representative David of Arizona's 1st district's vote could affect 98,000 individuals. Other representatives, including David Valadao (CA-22), Miller-Meeks (IA-01), Luna (FL-13), Ryan Zinke (MT-01), and Mike Lawler (NY-17), are also reported to have supported the bill, which would impact hundreds of thousands of constituents in their districts. The bill is also projected to result in job losses in the energy sector, with some districts facing reductions of several thousand energy jobs. Additionally, some areas may lose hospitals due to the bill's provisions. Advocacy groups have pledged to hold these representatives accountable in the 2026 elections for their support of the budget bill that reduces healthcare access and social assistance for their constituents.
