Activision used Gamescom’s Opening Night Live showcase to unveil a new “weapon build sharing” system for the forthcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. The feature embeds a unique alphanumeric “Build Code” into every Gunsmith configuration, allowing players to copy, paste and deploy identical weapon setups in-game or share them online with a single click. The Build Code is generated deterministically—if multiple players create the same combination of weapon and attachments, the code is identical for all of them—eliminating the need to transcribe lengthy parts lists. Screenshots captured in the Gunsmith automatically display the code, streamlining collaboration for competitive squads and content creators alike. Developer Treyarch, working with Raven Software, said the innovation is part of a broader overhaul to multiplayer systems that will be detailed further during an Xbox broadcast at Gamescom on 20 August. Black Ops 7 is scheduled to launch on 14 November 2025 for PC and current- and last-generation consoles.
