Nintendo’s new Switch 2, released on 5 June, continues to sell faster than the company can ship it. Analysts cited by Nikkei Asia say the console is moving roughly twice as quickly as the original model did at launch, with some estimates putting early sell-through at around 3.5 million units in the first four days. Despite the strong start, industry analysts warn that shoppers may struggle to find the hybrid device until at least next spring. Japanese retailers are still running lottery systems a month after launch, and resupply windows remain uncertain even in North America and Europe. Forecasts compiled by Nikkei and other market watchers call for 18 million-to-20 million Switch 2 units to ship in Nintendo’s current fiscal year. While the company is reportedly strengthening production lines, analysts say demand is likely to continue outstripping supply through the holiday season, limiting upside on potential sales gains.
