Sega has confirmed that Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will arrive on Nintendo’s forthcoming Switch 2 console digitally during the 2025 holiday season, followed by a physical edition in early 2026. The boxed version will ship with the entire base game on the cartridge, avoiding the partial-download approach used by some recent releases. Existing owners of the Switch edition will be offered a paid Upgrade Pack that transfers all content and player progress to Switch 2, enabling cross-progression across systems. Sega has priced the Switch 2 Standard Edition at £64.99 and the Digital Deluxe Edition at £79.99; pre-orders will open at a later date. The kart racer—featuring more than 40 vehicles, over 70 gadgets and in excess of 100 customisable parts and decals—debuts on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and the current Switch on 25 September 2025. Guest appearances from franchises including Hatsune Miku, Like a Dragon and Persona 5 are also planned.
