The Pokémon Company used a 24-minute Pokémon Presents livestream on 22 July to debut a new trailer for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, confirming the action-RPG will launch on 16 October 2025 for both the original Nintendo Switch and the forthcoming Switch 2. The footage centres on Lumiose City and introduces Mega Dragonite—the first mega-evolved form for the original generation’s dragon—as well as the return of Detective Emma. Alpha Pokémon, last seen in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, were also shown to be returning. Separately, the company provided the first in-depth look at Pokémon Champions, a competitive, turn-based title scheduled for 2026 on Switch and mobile devices. The game will feature Single and Double Battles across Ranked, Casual and Private modes, with Pokémon HOME support allowing players to assemble teams from their existing collections. Additional minor announcements included a stop-motion animation project starring Sirfetch’d and Pichu.
